LEVAN PR 1204

Product Description:

LEVAN PR 1204 is moisture curing 1-component solvent based polyurethane primer. LEVAN PR 1204 is suitable for using as a primer for TPU extrusion coatings and over-molding.

Application:

Depending upon the different substances combination and the weight use of the finished laminate, the application weight is 0,8 - 1,5 g/m² dry. PR 1204 can be applied systems with all applications units that have smooth or gravure rolls.

Typical Characteristics:

Properties:

LEVAN PR 1204 exhibits excellent bond strength properties and is therefore recommended as primer for difficult applications. Being 1 component polyurethane primer LEVAN PR 1204 ensures ease of handling and safety of operation.

Properties Of Primer:

The cured polyurethane film is transparent, odourless, elastic and age resistant.

Directions for Use Dilution:

Suitable solvents are ethyl acetate.

Concentration:

We recommend a standard concentration of 20 % which means a mixture of 25 kilos of the corresponding primer with 37.5 kilos of solvents.LEVAN PR 1204 should not be diluted below 20% solids otherwise risk of phase separation.LEVAN PR 1204 should not be diluted below 20% solids otherwise risk of phase separation.

Pot Life:

The diluted primer solution has a working life of at least 1 day when kept in a tightly closed container.

Over-Molding:

As a primer, LEVAN PR 1204 is suitable for improving lamination performance.

Drying:

LEVAN PR 1204 is recommended to dry at room temperature before injection. To speed up the evaporation, LEVAN PR 1204 can be heated (see MSDS). Drying time depends upon the different substances and processes.

Curing:

The laminates may be cured completed more than 24 hours at room temperature after injection. Curing time depends upon temperature, humidity and other conditions. The most efficient processing conditions should be based on intensive trials.

Storage:

LEVAN PR 1204 has a storage life of 9 months when stored in the original unopened containers in cool and dry places. Once opened, containers should be closed tightly again and the material should be consumed within a short period.

General:

This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials. For safe handling information on this product, consult the Material Safety Data Sheets,  (MSDS).
